Freelance journalist working in East Africa, tackling issues that range from local politics to the ivory trade. I moved to East Africa 4 years ago in search of the positive stories that so rarely escape this continent. However, what I am left with is a tapestry of realities, both tragic and celebratory. East Africa is a diverse region and should never be treated as a monolith. I aim to tell all sides of the human experience, illuminating parts of the continent that have long remained hidden to a wider audience.
